My research interests

My research focuses on cosmology and string theory. In particular, I study the behaviour of the very early universe, which underwent a period of accelerated expansion known as inflation. One theme of my research explores whether the energy scale of inflation may be large enough to cause inflation to be sensitive to the effects of high energy physics, in particular string theory, which is one of the most developed frameworks for studying physics at high energy. Another aspect of my research centres on inflationary observables, which allow us to distinguish between different models of inflation. I work on the theoretical predictions of these observables from large classes of models, which can then be tested against observational data. These observations can then give us information about the underlying high energy theory present at the time of inflation.
